The National Pension Scheme (NPS)

started by Government of India is a low cost, tax-efficient and flexible retirement savings scheme. It can be applied through eNPS which is online method or by visiting POP-SP which is offline method.



A) Online Registration using Aadhaar


  1. Click here and click on the Register tab.
  2. It will open a form. Fill in all the details and generate OTP.
  3. You will receive an OTP.
  4. Enter that OTP.
  5. If correct, then Aadhar details will appear.
  6. If you don't want to use your Aadhar photographs, then upload new ones along with scanned signatures. 
  7. Then you have to make your first contribution of minimum Rs. 500.
  8. After making the contribution, you will be allotted with Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN). Few days later, you will receive a welcome kit from the PFRDA which will have a PRAN card, IPIN, TPIN and scheme details.
  9. Print online form, paste a photograph on it and sign in the space given. The send this form to Central Recordkeeping Agency.

B) Online Registration using PAN


  1. Click here and click on the Register tab.

  2. Fill the form and in the "Choose appropriate options" table, select the Permanent Account Number (PAN) button instead of Aadhaar. 
  3. Next enter your PAN number and select your bank. Click on Contine
  4. Then, fill up all the mandatory details online and upload your scanned photograph and signature (the file should be in *.jpeg/*.jpg format and should be between 4kb - 12kb size) 
  5. Then you have to make your first contribution of minimum Rs. 500.
  6. Your KYC will be done by the bank and the charges will be Rs. 125.
  7. After making the contribution, you will be allotted with Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN). Few days later, you will receive a welcome kit from the PFRDA which will have a PRAN card, IPIN, TPIN and scheme details.
  8. Print online form, paste a photograph on it and sign in the space given. The send this form to Central Recordkeeping Agency.

C) Offline Registration via POP-SP


  1. Download the subscriber's registration form from here.
  2. Fill up the form, paste photograph and sign it.
  3. Then submit it to nearest POP-SP.
    Find your nearest POP-SP by clicking here.
  4. Submit your KYC documents.
  5. Make first contribution (min. Rs. 500) by submitting a slip at POP-SP.
  6. PRAN card will be sent to your correspondence address by CRA.
  7. Track your application by clicking here.
